Missed my dream interview. Totally f'd it all up!

Just that really. Had a job interview for a perfect job position earning £5-10k more than I am on with great benefits in a similar role. I misread the recruiters email and missed the interview, even rescheduling my job around the date I thought the interview was! The recruiter said they will try and see what they can do to reschedule with the company and they said they will give the company an excuse on my behalf but I’m not very hopeful (nor did I ask them to do this so lets see). I’m so angry at myself and feel so stupid.

Is it likely I will get another interview or have I blown it? Even if they do by some miracle agree to reschedule, I’ve probably made such a bad first impression. Just sucks I’ve been looking for a job for so long as a single mum on a low income and no interviews or failed ones, and the one time I get some luck, I flush it down the drain. Just so ashamed and annoyed really.

Honestly I think it is unlikely you’ll get an interview unless they’ve extended the process
i can understand how cross you feel with yourself BUT give yourself a day of upset and then get to looking
you’re in an frame of mind to find something so you will

Don't beat yourself up now, I understand why you are kicking yourself but it happens to everyone, it happens to me a lot at least, I quite often misread emails and then put the thing in my head and in my diary and I'm wrong. In hindsight, you would have done things differently, but it's happened now.

It may be the company doesn't mind too much, they may have many people to see over several days so they will just slot you in elsewhere. The recruiter seems to be trying for you, so crossed fingers.

If not this job, it will be another one. Do something nice tonight and forgive yourself this (non-lifethreatening, if annoying) mistake and start again tomorrow. Good luck!

I didn't get a different job so the recruiter put me forward for this role as it coincidentally landed in their lap at the same, so it's a fairly newish position that has just opened up. I am praying I get another chance based on this but just trying to forget about it and apply for more. Such a shame. Thank you for your kind words.
