Any advice on who is the best value for new driver car insurance? Have done a few quotes and they seem to vary a lot.

I think my dd1's insurer was Admiral. It was around £1400. She was 21 when she got her 1st car

They pay however much the insurer they choose charges then, stating the obvious I know but car insurance must one of the most bespoke things you can buy, literally every person has their own price depending on their circumstances.

Unless there are twins who live together, have exactly the same car, same driving history, same everything else I suppose 😁

They lay the cheapest they can find,
like everyone else.

My colleague has just had to get insurance for her dd. She has got her own small car - a Citroen I think. They paid £950 with Hastings direct with a black box.

Ds will be taking his test in a few weeks and I’ll be really chuffed if we can get his car insured for a 3 figure sum too.

DS (21) has his first insurance policy - it was £700 with Hastings (Citroen C1)
