Enshittification of McVitie’s chocolate biscuits

Oh no, McVitie’s are having to rename their biscuits as chocolate flavoured as they are reducing the cocoa content to the point that it is no longer chocolate. Just another reduction in quality which is not good enough IMO. I don’t buy chocolate flavoured crap. High quality products used to be what this country was known for.

Well that's NOT what wanted to learn first thing on a Sunday morning. Why can't they just leave things the fuck alone???
Mcvities chocolate digestive biscuits are THE treat biscuits of my childhood.

Their dark chocolate digestives are my top biscuit ever. My Grandpa used to have a secret tin of them for himself/the grandkids. This is very disappointing.

It's depressing isn't it? Yet another thing I will have to stop buying because it's gone crap.

I keep thinking that surely at some point people will stop buying this rubbish but it seems that enough still do. If we ever come out of this awful cost of living crisis there will be a market for decent products made of the proper ingredients even if they taste more. I think half the problem is this has happened so gradually that people no longer recognise what a biscuit or a bar of chocolate should taste like. We've all become accustomed to eating palm fat all day every day because it's in everything.

People need to stop buying these mediocre branded products.

If I want chocolate digestives, I pick them up at M&S for £1. Im not paying £3.20 or whatever it is now for the same product but worse.

Don’t bother with McVities et al. again. As long as people pay the same price for the same crap, they have no incentive to change anything.

A cup of tea and a few chocolate digestives sorts everything out.

I can’t eat wheat so eat shitty choc digestives anyway but one of the treats I enjoy buying ds is the different choc digestives. I was already annoyed at smaller biscuit and packet sizes.

Now I’ll just buy Aldi own cheap crap as at least they are cheap - as opposed to expensive crap!

Once upon a time a full digestive didnt fit in a mug of tea, it had to be broken in half. Now it dunks in the mug whole😡

This is so frustrating I only kept buying them despite how expensive they are because the cheaper ones taste weird the biscuit base often has a different texture.
When I'm in the mood for them I can plough through a packet so I suppose it's good for my waist but I'd like to have the choice !!

I've just stopped buying brands.

A sort of reverse brand situation has happened where if I've heard of it, it's definitely gone to shit. Cadburys, Heinz, McVities, whatever from my childhood -- it's all horrible now.

I'm beyond devastated but not really surprised. Everything seems to shrinking or the quality is just getting worse.
Aldi dark chocolate digestives are the closest I've found to mcvities......there is just a world of comfort in a cuppa and biscuits.
