What are you dressing baby in to sleep?

What is everyone dressing their babies in for bed currently?

I have a 9 week old baby and I’m stressing. The temp has really dropped where I am and I’ve been freezing all day, it’s currently 10 degrees outside.

Up until now I’ve been dressing him in a vest, baby grow and a 1 tog love to dream swaddle. However the last 2 nights he’s been waking in the early hours as if he’s too cold.

Ive just put him in a 2.5 tog sleep sack with a long sleeve baby grow underneath. I’m stressing now in case he gets too hot. My groegg thermometer is saying that our room is 21 degrees but it feels freezing!

2.5 tog and a long sleeve baby grow too.

Sainsbury’s do some padded/togged babygrows that were good when young

I suppose you could heat up his room gently at night. When it is cold its hard to sleep. The next option is warm and cosy bed clothes.

21 doesn’t sound like a cold room to me OP. I’d be more worried about baby overheating than getting a bit chilly, and that sounds like quite a lot of clothes for a 21 degree room. Did baby feel chilly when he woke up? I’d assume he wanted boob 😂

We bedshare so don’t use sleep sacks.

I would go with long sleeved vest and 2.5 tog bag..

Mine sleeps with 2.5 tog plus baby grow plus sleeping suit in a 20-21degrees room. Anything less and he’s feeling cold and gets unsettled. But I used to be stressed about overheating as well. Touch him a few times during the night, you’ll see whether he is too hot.

I always did a short sleeve vest, long sleepsuit with feet and a merino sleeping bag all winter ( they don’t come in togs).

Thanks all. He slept soundly last night so he must have been cold in previous nights, I didn’t sleep much though as I was constantly checking that he wasn’t too warm 😂

I think my room thermometer is faulty, there is no way on earth that this room was 21 degrees last night. I was wearing long pjs and under the duvet and was still cold to the bone, but then again I am a freezer!

Also what is the difference between a baby grow and a sleep suit? I always thought that they were the same thing?!
