Smart watch for kids that isn't too smart?

For my 10 yr old.

Ideally I'd like it to tell the time, have an alarm, count steps and have a GPS tracker that means I can see where he is by looking at my phone. I've started letting him go to school and the local shop alone.

I really don't want it to message/call although receiving messages would be ok. No games either. Hopefully no subscription. Needs to be able to work without a phone although I could sync to mine occasionally.

Does this exist?
Not sure what secondary he's going to buy most don't allow smart phones or watches to be on in school, and he doesn't have a phone.

Thanks!

Oh yes I have just this! Hang on

£60 quid. It lets me track 9 year old DS, I can call him, it can store 10 phone numbers he can call, it has a little camera feature that takes blurry photos and it tracks his steps. It does everything we need, and nothing more. It's not online and I don't think it even has games. He can't text, only call, and the parent has to approve any numbers added.

Oh just seen you don't want it to call... If you didn't put any phone numbers in it would work for you

Thanks I will check it out, although it might be banned by the school if it can make calls. Although I guess that is almost a year away.

Hmm DS aged 10 has an XPlora - it has a subscription, it can call and message, and has games, so indeed not what you’re looking for. But the games aren’t interesting enough to be enticing and I think you can only play them if youve done enough steps. Every time he calls or texts someone I get a notification. He can only call or text people I add to the app. He’s suitably disinterested in the device but enjoys taking it out when the need arises.

Hmm unfortunately it does have games. My son will be on them constantly to the exclusion of everything else, he has no self control so access to anything with games needs to be heavily restricted to a certain amount of time a day. Thanks anyway!

A tikker watch is just a pedometer+ watch. That and an air tracker thing in his bag would do it, no?

Like a Tile thing? I don't have Apple stuff but I believe those are similar.
Yes that might work, I could get him to take a Tile with him if out alone and will look up the Tinker.
