What is in your winter car 'box'?

If you don't have one I'd recommend getting one. I have a clear plastic box with clips on it, nothing fancy.

Plasters
Anti septic
Hand san
Fruit pouches - long date
Biscuits - long date/ digestives
Scissors
Silver crinkly blanket
Rain poncho
Safety pins
Bandage
De Icer spray
Tissues
Plastic bags - handy any time of year for unexpected mess
Lighter

I will also have a 2ltr water and a blanket/old coat.

I have a solar radio with phone charger but I don't keep that in the boot. I bought that in Feb after we lost power and phone signal at my house for 5 days. It was nice to hear the news at least!

It might seem a bit much but it really takes up very little space and when I hear of people stuck on motorways for hours or at the side of the road in a break down I think I'd be happy to have it.

I have a woollen blanket and a cushion on the back seat, useful for sleeping in the car if need be. Also water, screen wash, fuses, first aid kit, hi vis vest, de-icer, ice scraper, spare bulbs. Hat, gloves, scarf, waterproof coat, boots. Camping stove and gas canister, kettle, pan, teabags, uht milk, soup sachets. Kite, frisbee, ball for playing out ☺️ Tissues, lip salve, paracetamol, ibuprofen, Rennies. Pen, notebook. All this lives in the car all year round, it’s a Land Rover so there’s room and I’m prepared for anything.

I have my hi-viz in the glove box along with pen/ notebook. I don't think I will be getting a camp stove, I have a Ford Kuga and the boot is surprisingly small, more so with a double buggy!! I think I will throw in some gloves and a scarf tho.

I keep the box in the car year around as well, I just check it this time of year.

I don't drive but in my rucksack I have,
Very small basic 1st kit,
Power bank
Pad & pen
Spare sanitary stuff
Wet wipes
Extra strong mints
Rechargeable & disposable hand warmers
£10
.
This is just for trips to and from work , if I was going further I'd add more food and drinks.

Blanket, hats, gloves, mars bars, water, plain biscuits. , old fleece. Some of this stays in car all year around, as you break down on the motorway in the summer as well as winter.

Oh and coins for car parking. I live rurally and there isn’t always a signal to pay on an app.
