What can I make to eat alongside this…

I’ve been eyeing up some salmon from M&S (this is for Boxing Day so planning ahead). It has honey, orange and thyme - i’ll pop a pic below.

Firstly, do you think it will be nice? A bit worried it will be too sweet? Can’t find any reviews on it.

Secondly, what can I make to accompany it?

Very thinly sliced red onions and capers - you need tart and sharp tastes to balance the richness. And bread.

Maybe a potato salad with capers and dill. I’d want something you counterbalance the sweetness. Tbh I would prefer to go for a plain side of salmon from the fishmongers because I think topping a nice salmon with honey and orange seems pretty criminal to me.

Agree about potato salad. Beetroot goes well with salmon too. Mushroom salad? Also some leafy green or mostly green salad leaves for colour and contrast. Is this something you'd put on the buffet table whole and people would cut/flake bits off - as opposed to a side of smoked salmon which someone with better knife skills than me would slice up very thinly so people could have it with rye bread, blinis etc?
