Having dreams every single night, starting to worry

This started happening about 2 weeks ago. Usually I would dream once every blue moon. But every single night for 2 weeks straight I am having dreams, most nights I'm having multiple dreams in one night. Sometimes I wake up and drift back off for about 15 mins and even in that short 15 mins I'll have another dream. Is this normal??

Facts that you may want to know*

  • I am 30, female
  • I got a new mattress/bed around 2.5 weeks ago (it's a little too firm for me so we are debating swapping it once 30 days has passed)
  • I don't have any health conditions
  • I don't feel well rested, it almost feels like I've had a night of no sleep because my brain has been on the go constantly all night
  • In the 2 weeks I've only had 1 nightmare, the rest of my dreams are quite 'boring' and I tend not to remember them the next morning

Has anyone else every experienced this?

Sounds like you’re just not sleeping well on the new mattress.

Everyone dreams, but your mattress is making you wake up and remember them.
I'd take it as a bonus to dream more vividly, and not in the woo-shite manner.

Agree. You keep waking up so you are remembering dreams instead of sleeping through and forgetting them.

It’s totally normal to dream all night but you are probably sleeping more lightly and therefore waking up and remembering your dreams more than you would usually.

Yes I was like this when I started on Mounjaro and the same when I started taking Prozac. They were nice dreams, those thst I remembered anyway but recently I've seen lots of shouty faces in my dreams and I've also been running for my life so not sure what all that is about. To be fair I've had a lot of very stressful things happen, my beloved Mum died in July, we sold our house after a stressful 10 months conveyancing, and we've had issues with our pets. I'm also out of work although that happens infrequently because I'm freelance so know its only temporary.

So a lot of worries. Maybe that's what it is with you OP?

You're just not sleeping well. You dream, every night, but many people don't remember their dreams.

Titasaducksarse · 12/10/2025 08:53

I dream like you do now literally every single night! It's exhausting but the way it has always been. Try magnesium to help quiet your brain, that helps me a lot.

lottiegarbanzo · 12/10/2025 08:54

Dreaming throughout the night is normal. Sounds like you’re used to sleeping solidly through and now you’re sleeping badly, waking in the night, so noticing them.

The dreams were always there, they are not causing the poor sleep. Correlation is not causation.

You dream anytime you go into an REM sleep cycle so around 4 times a night. You remember dreams when you wake up during or just after an REM cycle. I suspect the new bed and recent events have made you more restless so you are waking up more; that’s all it is nothing to worry about.
