Improving gut health / supermarkets yogurts

After a bout of infection which needed extended antibiotics and laxatives I’m looking to improve my gut health.

I don’t know where to start with yogurts/kefir in the supermarket which all claim they have thousands of strains of this that or the other. Does anyone recommend one they’ve used? Ideally something not full of sugar/sweeteners

Just go to the polish fridge but and buy the plain kefir, about £1.30 for a litre

I’m the same, having a long course of antibiotics atm. I have bought Yeo valley organic kefir which has no additives. Sometimes on offer in Waitrose.

Try to eat a little bit of lots of different fruit or veg. Variety is important. Big MN salad for lunch every daySmile

I like the Yeo Valley one, easy to add to some flax, seeds, oats and berries and have for breakfast. I used to buy the Polish kefir but didn’t like it so much with flax etc and don’t really want to drink smoothies in the winter, which is what I generally did with it.

Tesco plain kefir is good and cheap.

Id also recommend a few fresh slices of ginger in hot water in the morning before you eat anything.

Interesting - what’s the thought process behind that?

off to tescos!
