Didn’t practice good sleep hygiene so probably can blame myself. However, I really don’t sleep well when there is a full moon.

Will go to bed early and have no screens.
Drinking lots of water now so I don’t have to get up in the night.
Take magnesium

Dark curtains.
What else can I do?!?

Have some cheese on toast before you go to bed, vivid dreams will happen.

My miserable sleep deprived self is craving a Chinese takeaway. Thanks for reminding me not to induce a night of MSG fueled dreams!

Best wishes everyone for a good night. Hope we are not catching up again at 4am…

Don't switch lights on at 3.00 am, just say your times tables, recite the names of every country in Africa (or Europe, or N&S America), count backward in 9s from 360 . . .

with luck you'll bore yourself back to sleep.

LittleGreenDuck · 08/10/2025 20:47

I couldn't sleep last night either. Is this a thing?!

anothermerrygoround · 08/10/2025 20:56

Me too. Gave up at 5:4am and got up! Really hoping I sleep tonight as work was horrendous this afternoon.

ShadyPinesMa · 08/10/2025 22:31

This is interesting, I didn't know this was a thing but I also had a terrible night last night!

Letmeoutodhere · 08/10/2025 22:37

Definitely me, though last night I did sleep. Unusually.

There have been a few studies since this one, and the evidence so far continues to be 'yes, it does'. I have found it's good to know when full moon is, partly because if (as usual) I'm made restless by it I don't then start fretting about the restlessness and make matters worse.

I slept very well last night which was great, because the two nights before were unpleasantly disturbed. I hope it worked out that way for the rest of you.

I’m slept fine last night but not the night before.
