A niche question for Glasses Direct customers

I love my frames, I love the price, but I am so done with the antiglare coating. The lenses get streaky so easily and are absolute bastards to get properly clean. My Specsavers ones have a coating and clean really well, but I don’t want to get more from there as my GD ones are only supposed to be spares for at home and I’m tight.

If you have the GD ones without the antiglare coating, are they any better? I don’t really use these for work calls etc. so could live without it. Or do I need to just get a second pair from Specsavers?

I didn't ask for anti glare and the glasses I've got have it.
Sort of like a blue tint.
I only have them as house glasses too.

That’s annoying. Although mine don’t have a tint and I definitely ordered antiglare.

I didn't get my glasses at GD, but I did order mine without anti-glare coating, because I had heard with the coating they get smudgy often.
I made a massive mistake, never again.
However unlike you, I'm not just wearing them at home or as spares.
When I go outside I look like this 🥸.
Not having the anti-glare really affects the clarity of your vision.
If you're using your computer in a lit room, or driving at night, or just not liking the way they reflect back at you, like sunlight reflecting off a window pane, do not order without anti glare coating!

Bah. If it helps, Specsavers ones have been good for cleaning and not smudgy. Maybe I just need to suck it up and look at their cheapest ones after all.

Yep, should've gone to Specsavers!
Next for me too.

If you are looking for alternatives I can recommend Asda. Much more reasonable prices than other high street opticians and service was great! A friend recommended them when I was struggling to find a particular style of glasses and I was really impressed.
