I love my DS2 and his quirks with all of my heart but he has just developed a new finger clicking stim and I don't know why as he's had noisy ones before but this particular one is grating on EVERY nerve I have left. It's really incessant, sometimes in a pattern, sometimes random and I KNOW he cant help it/is barely aware he's even doing it but arrgghhhh! Any advice please before I rip my own ears off?

My son had a clapping Stim, so I asked him to wear gloves 🙈🙈 it helped massively with the noise. Not sure if that’s an option for you?

I've seen them but absolutely HATE things in my ears. I can't wear any ear bud headphones (wonder where DS2 gets it all from!) Are they less intrusive than that?

Ooh that would definitely stop the "clicks" but not sure he would be up for it! 😆 I will fish out some and see tomorrow!

Not a stim but my ds grinds his teeth in his sleep. I can hear it through the wall. I cannot bear it.

Sorry I don't have advice but you do have my sympathy.

Not much less intrusive.

Can you access some protection for his teeth, ideally through a dentist?
They will stop damage to his teeth.
(my daughter did this, to the extent that a dentist commented on how pronounced her jaw muscles are!)
