I’m not sure how popular this will be on this site but the V11 footballers on BBC is worth a watch.
Without watching it’s very easy to jump to the conclusion that this is about overpaid and stupid footballers being greedy and partaking in abusive tax planning. In fact it’s not - it’s about a group of footballers who (due to their level and the era they played in) would not have earnt the millions that players do today, but were clearly abused by a couple of financial advisors and lost a hell of a lot of money.
This has been detrimental to their lives, relationships and mental health. The men are so obviously broken. It’s really sad and I am really cross that this has been allowed to happen with no real repercussions yet - it’s still ongoing.
