Staff party drama stories

As we get closer to Xmas party season I wanted to start a thread to share your stories about staff parties and the crazy goings on and drama. What's the worst one you've been to? Anyone got sacked after one?

Mines not that interesting but I'll start

Work Xmas party a few years ago, we invited the newest team member who'd started a few days before. He got so drunk and had to be put into a taxi home. Next day we had work (midweek parties never a good idea) and he was nowhere to be seen. HR lady was chilled at first and assumed he'd call or be in touch. By 1pm no one had heard a thing and various people had tried to call to make sure he was OK. No response. HR lady decided she'd drive all the way yo his house to check on him. While she was on her way there, he did ring. Turns out he'd just slept in until the early afternoon and forgotten all about work.

He was let go the same day!

I walked into my (male) head of legal and his assistant doing coke in the female loos at the START of the Christmas party at my last job… thankfully my current one is a bit more decorous 😂 I didn’t tell anyone but they were both made redundant 2 weeks later so take from that what you will!

In another job, I was scheduled to work very early the next morning, and warned one of the guys on our management track who was due to open with me/shadow me when I left the party at 9pm not to get too drunk and make sure he showed up on time. He swore he’d drunk enough and was heading home in 5 mins. Sure enough, I got the most hilarious (and enraging at the time) 6 minute long voicemail at 3am explaining exactly how drunk he was, and how that had made him sick, complete with a vomiting break for ‘proof’. He ended up keeping his job but his reputation with the team was wrecked and we changed his department.

Mentioned mine I a thread yesterday! Many moons ago I worked a horrible sales job - we were having a Christmas Do in a huge marquee (which incidentally, was cold as all hell with the wind blowing through!) Our two top sales guys had been drinking/ doing coke since our early finish and I'm not sure what happened but they got into a fist fight on the light up disco dance floor! Some people stepped in to help, got caught in the crossfire and more punches were thrown...in all I think there were about 10 people in the end all rolling round on the floor, pulling ties and bleeding. I still to this day have never seen anything like it. Everyone who was involved got sacked and I never saw them again! Really weird evening!

Years ago, the summer work experience girl in a large office I worked in was taken to the pub at lunchtime on her 18th by the staff in her dept. Over 2 hours later, she gets carried through the office doors, slumped unconscious and shoeless across the shoulders of her line manager, showing off a cracking pair of furry neon pink socks. She was laid out on a sofa in a manager's office where she threw up all over the floor, and was still snoring like a rhino at 5pm.

Apparently the staff had been pouring shots down her, and she tried to dance on a table before she passed out. Never saw her again, and the staff were reportedly disciplined.
