We are having the first roast since May. Just chicken but DP is very good at making a roast so I’m excited for it.

Slow cooker coq au vin with mashed potatoes. I love slow cooking; I just bang it on in the morning and get on with my day and I don’t have to then think about what I’m cooking for dinner later, as it’s already sorted, if you see what mean.

Paella. My husband makes it, and it is phenomenal. We're having a stay-at-home date night (no childcare) so kids have eaten and as soon as they're in bed we'll dish up with a glass of red wine and watch a film 😀

Cheese omelette. Had a change of plans and visitors at lunchtime so did a quick chilli then.

Roast chicken legs with roast tatties and green beans

TakeMe2Insanity · 05/10/2025 18:39

Tacos. DS does a sports activity on a sunday so its easy. I’m very tempted by all the roast chickens for tomorrow as DH gets home late and doesn’t eat chicken.

Takeaway for 2. Delivered. Lots of sides. Bliss.

Just had co op macaroni cheese and shepherd pie split between 3 of us, standing at the kitchen island. Leftovers into fridge. Boys had sandwiches at their friends’. Cannot be fuuuuucked.

Taste the difference chicken pie from Sainsbury's, mash and veg. First proper autumnal tea.

I gave a neighbour a lift to the supermarket and she didn't want to go straight home so unexpectedly insisted on treating me to a roast at a pub in town so now I'm full and DP has to fend for himself

MagicLoop · 05/10/2025 18:43

We had roast chicken last night, courtesy of dh. Tonight is spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs.

Catsknowbest · 05/10/2025 18:44

Done roast last 3 Sundays. Today pre cooked sliced gammon, mashed potatoes and cabbage 😊 then possibly a cornetto........🤔

FaceBothered · 05/10/2025 18:45

Dh cooked roast beef with all the trimmings.

But we're roast dinner addicts here, so he cooks one every Sunday, even during Summer!

Lovelynames123 · 05/10/2025 18:46

We've just had bangers and mash with yorkies, cauliflower cheese, tenderstem broccoli, mange tout, runner beans and, of course, lashings of gravy! Was bloody delicious 😋

Went to Bury market yesterday as the fish and meat hall is fab, and broke the bank account on a smoked haddock fillet, a cod fillet, a whole salmon and some prawns. Most went in the freezer but some went on a fab fish pie with parsley mash, petit pois and carrots.
