Luton Airport Parking tonight??!

Hello all,

My poor DM is currently stuck after a last minute 5 hour drive down to Luton airport to pick up a friend. Friend's flight arrival has been delayed to midnight because of the storm.

She got there 90 minutes ago so needs to leave before she gets fined and find somewhere else safe to park until midnight!

Any ideas folks? She hasn't got the means to pay for parking online there and is a total tech phobe! She's just rung me for help! Thank you

She could drive to a hotel and have supper there perhaps? There must be a few nearby.

Hope you get it sorted but surely there must be an easier way to get a friend home then a 10hr+ round driving trip?

Is the friend in the air or delayed in boarding the plane?

She will likely be delayed further I would imagine as it's only going to get worse into this evening so if I were you mum I would book a hotel near the airport and when the friend arrived she could join her at the hotel then set off home tomorrow hopefully in better weather.

Parking outside Citihotel Luton is free after 6:30pm. Actually most places around there parking is free in the evening. She can also go to the retail park on Gipsy Lane where there is also loads of free parking.

There is an Asda near the airport, open until 12 with 3 hours free parking (double check the signs though!) Tried to PM you as local.

The holiday inn express car park there is usually £10 a day ish on yourparkingspace.co.uk - 10 min walk from terminal max

Thank you so much everybody. She found Asda bless her and then got a call to say the flight was cancelled altogether so she had to drive all the way home again!

Kudos to your mum, I find driving exhausting and would struggle with a 10hr unexpected round trip (+ the time waiting). Did she come straight back or a hotel? If no hotel, did she stop for food?
