Family Reunion Rights

It's being reported that the Government are going to end the right for Family Reunification for Asylum seekers. I think the Government is making the right decision here since generally see men coming over claiming asylum, staying whilst the claim is processed and then bringing their family over once they have been granted. Often one person being granted Asylum leads to 3-4 people being allowed to come over.

I think it will act as a deterrent for men coming over if they know that they won't be able to bring their family at a later date.

Not often a fan of this Government but credit where its due and all that.

I thought the whole 'it's men in the boats' thing was an issue. Now everyone wants just the men, not the women and children?

Full disclosure, DH is foreign, we met overseas, and we went through the immigration process. We're white though, and English speaking, so everyone thinks it's romantic and adorable.
