Posting on MN means you can get a good job

I have been told this on here.
If you can post on MN then you can work and if you dont have a job above MN wage you are a failure.
I can post on MN but there is so much more to a job than typing online.
We need people in the low paid jobs. But some people on here are insisting people like me are choosing to stay in low paid jobs for benefits.
When I worked I was not on benefits at all. My low wage covered my living costs. I was a hospital cleaner.
It is not the fault of people in low paid jobs that they cant afford to live anymore.

Luckily I don't think MN is representative of real life. The views expressed on here don't seem to align with what I tend to hear irl thankfully.
Most people I know respect anyone who gets out of bed to go to work no matter what their earnings are.
Don't forget most people on here say they are earning in excess of 100k per year but claim they are struggling to afford groceries 🤷‍♀️😉

Yes I have seen post from people on £170k on about cancelling Disney+. What is that about?

🤯

Im scarcely above minimum wage (single parent) and, after an awful lot of posting here, am not sure entirely what you’re on about.

I assume people get used to a certain standard of living and when (plenty) of money doesn't stretch as far as it used too they panic and swap from Andrex loo roll to Aldi's essentials 😆
When you start off with less you realise saving £4.99 pm on Disney + is pissing in the wind in the great scheme of things!

Sorry. I am upset as I was a cleaner in a hospital and someone told me that it was an entry level job and that I should be doing a better job now.
They said I could post on MN so could get a better job. I am not sure what they mean by that as being able to type does not mean you can do better jobs. It is all about the other skills you have too.

Nothing wrong with being a cleaner it's a hard graft job.
My DW has been a cleaner for 42 years and it's taken a toll on her health along with other disability issues and she still soldiers on.

I read the same thread, I think. I also read one that said people that don't have parents are failures and creeps (my mum died when I was young and I'm estranged from my dad) I don't think I'm a creep but it stuck in my head. Someone also said 35k salary is considered failing, and that's a pretty decent salary in my eyes. I think some people are bullies, but there are also bots. For every one person with these views you'll have another 10 who don't agree at all and sympathise with peoples circumstances.

My friend is a hospital cleaner and he works very hard, I know I couldn't do that job and I admire him. He's on good terms with a lot of the medical staff and I think he keeps morale up. (He has a sense of humour shall we say..) if there were no hospital cleaners where would we be?

I earn a little above minimum wage. I would never look down on anyone. I applied for cleaning roles before but don't have the experience so didn't get the jobs. Plus I have a bad back. Just ignore people, if you don't want a job that pays more you don't have to have one. I do what I can and that's all. I don't care what people think of me
