A thread for ideas.
I just made mine a cup of tea as they’re studying and I hid a chocolate bar in a desk drawer for them the other day.
We’re watching a film later.
They’re usually busy with all their stuff and I m keen to make the most of the the time I can.

Took her to McDonald’s today then shopping for a new coat and make up, now we’re in the car wash which she considers a premium treat 🤣

Allowing band practice at ours after school for both kids and “band members”.

I bought him a new hoodie a he's growing like a weed.
Not specifically for the teenager, but I made pancakes for breakfast which I knew he would enjoy.
I let him choose whet we're having for dinner (burgers).

Got up at 5.30 last Sunday morning to make him a packed lunch, and drive him to his drop off point for a regional competition for 6am. Yawn.

Made DH stay up til he got home from a gig last night. I'm much more of a lark, DH is an owl.

Let her off from doing chores as it was the last week before uni drop off and her anxiety was spiking, cooked all her favourite food and handed over the remote.

Peachypips78 · 27/09/2025 17:37

It’s DS’s 15th birthday today. Murder mystery dinner party! Normal thing we enjoy is a game of Settlers of Catan (other DS is 17) or making a meal together. Don’t get to do the shopping for lovely stuff thing!

TimetohittheroadJack · 27/09/2025 17:59

While it doesn’t sound that much fun, I went to Home bargains, tk maxx, the charity shop and then Sainsbury’s today with my DD 16 (twins). it cost me almost double what I’d usually spend, but we came home, watched a film and drank smoothies (made by dd) and a pile of snacks. They have now gone back to their rooms but it was actually a lovely day with them!

LemonVerbenaGeranium · 27/09/2025 19:21

Bought him a new ring binder for his Maths work, and some nice cake from the garden centre for lunch. Planning to play Cascadia board game either tonight or tomorrow. We also had a good walk together with the dog.

C0NFUSEDIAM · 27/09/2025 19:28

Went to a spa together!

A cheeky Nando’s is always a winner over here. Usually followed by a cinema trip if we’re feeling flush!
