Missed period at nearly 50

More likely to be peri (haven’t missed a period yet, but cycle all over the place) or pregnancy? Using withdrawal usually avoid likely ovu window, but not last month on one occasion.

Any advice to pull me out of a spiral until I get home. Had a few MMC, the last five years ago, then five years before and one successful. On Meds that probably preclude continuing.

Statistically most likely to be menopause, but pregnancy a possibility. Im sorry you are in a spiral, would you like to be pg?

Do you normally have regular periods? I mean, I’m 44, but it’s been a few years since I had periods regularly enough to be ‘late’. Sometimes they are 20 days, sometimes they are 75. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s much more likely to be perimenopause and you’re just very late to have it hit.

I’ve just turned 50 & had been regular up until last month, which I missed. This month’s period has been the heaviest I’ve ever had but as there’s zero chance of pregnancy with me, I’m just assuming it’s the delights of perimenopause.

Had there been a chance of pregnancy, I probably would have taken a test even though it’s very unlikely at 50.

My period stopped dead at 47.

Jejejfjffjjf · 27/09/2025 11:29

@Ketzele Unfortunately no as on an incompatible med.
@hyggetyggedotorg mine have been irregular but haven’t yet missed one. Taking iron supplements so hope it will be okay if they get heavier. I should test but want to get home.
@Bladderpool hoping this is the case for me. Did the ups and down of the cycle stop too?
@mindutopia have had symptoms and cycles from 19-35 days.

Thank you for the replies.

Thank you all. A bit of spotting. Hopeful this is the start of my period.

No idea of it was a chemical pregnancy or peri. Anyone else reading this please be a bit more careful than me in your late 40s if a pregnancy would not be possible to carry.
