£150 (!!!) to sit up in the Gods at Stratford...!

Bugger that. I saw the original Circus tour and it wss brilliant but it's obscene how much they are asking, even if i get presale tickets - i can't even get decent seats! 😢

That’s disappointing they are asking so much. Concerts are becoming unaffordable for many these days, such a shame

I paid that along with a few friends. Live events are much more affordable now my children are older teens and don't want to come along. I'm really looking forward to it.

I don't attend many concerts these days as the prices are astronomical and I feel swindled. You pay £150 for a ticket and then Ticketmaster will add £10+ on top for 'admin fees' and sending you an email. You can't even get paper tickets anymore that you can keep forever, or those who offer it charge you 20 quid for the privilege.

I think some artists are worse than others Taylor Swift with her 8 limited edition vinyls for one album. I also feel the new Stevie Nicks-Lindsay Buckingham album reeks of cash-grab, which is a shame as I'm a big Fleetwood and Stevie fan (not so much Buckingham).

Interestingly, I was listening to an episode of The Rest is Entertainment where they discussed how tours are basically the only way musicians make significant money now from their music. Streaming and radio doesn't make them very much these days and the sale of physical copies of albums/vinyls is significantly down (unless you're the aforementioned TS who has an obsessed fan base who need all your merch)

With the costs of venues, utilities, transport etc all going up, it's expensive to run a tour, so the cost is passed on in the form of £££ ticket prices.

Even knowing all of that, it still pisses me off and I simply won't pay it.
