Away for one night with my friend. We agreed to set the alarm for 9am this morning. Friend got up to use bathroom at 6.30am and I’ve been awake ever since. I can’t lie here for another hour honestly I need to get up, I’m going stir crazy. What times reasonable for me to get up and start getting myself ready etc (we fly home in a few hours)
we were in bed for 12, no drinking so it’s not like she won’t have much sleep

Get up now! It’s fine.

Is there a chair or sofa in the room where you could get up and then go sit and read until the alarm goes off?

foreverbasil · 25/09/2025 07:56

Just get up! So long as you are reasonably quiet and considerate surely at 8am it’s a non-issue

not really as it’s pure darkness

I think it’s fine to get up now, especially as you’re flying home in a few hours.
Could you do most of your getting ready in the bathroom?

If you’re flying home in a few hours then get up now 🤷🏽‍♀️ what a weird thread

Flying home around 1 so not asap but I’ve been lying awake for hours and there’s only so much of that you can do

Can you go down for breakfast?

HappyAsASandboy · 25/09/2025 08:35

I share a bedroom with a friend fairly regularly on trips away.

If either of us wants to get up before the other/the alarm then we do so! Grab your clothes (phone torch to help if needed) and go get dressed in the bathroom. Then go for a walk/to hotel breakfast until friends is awake. You grabbing your clothes won’t wake her any more than her going to the loo woke you!

IMO it would be annoying if you to get up earlier than agreed and start packing up the room. Let her sleep!

Get up, get dressed in bathroom, then go downstairs and read in lounge area or go for a walk.
