I am - and really looking forward to what he has to say. Not that he’ll be able to comment directly on Trump and all the batshit bonkers things he’s said these past few days.

anyone else?

So envious! I would LOVE to see him.

My friend suggested we go, but the tickets she wanted us to get were £500 each!

Panola · 24/09/2025 17:32

God what a contrast he was to the current one. Enjoy.

BeHappySloth · 24/09/2025 17:35

I would love to be at that event. The world has changed so much since that time when he was elected.

GPproblems · 24/09/2025 17:35

Very envious. Have a fabulous time

Thanks all, I’m going on my own as everyone who would be interested was not available. Ticket cost £200 but for those who know the 02, I’m block 111 row B so not that bad a seat. Am also hoping I actually see the man, rather than a dot on the stage/watch on a screen.

As PP has said, so much has changed since his time at the White House and the world is unrecognisable

David Olusoga is introducing him.

Am stupidly excited 😝

I am going to see him in Dublin at the weekend.
I forked out for front and centre tickets.
i figured I paid as much to take my kids to Taylor Swift/ Harry Styles etc over the years but this is for me.

Really looking forward to it.

Report back please so I know what to expect.

LadydeBathe · 24/09/2025 18:26

Yes, please report back!

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 24/09/2025 18:28

I hope he does Pink Pony Club.

adviceatthislatestage · 24/09/2025 18:32

@ChimneyPot

Agreed. I’ve paid silly money for what turned out to be disappointing concerts, but this is Obama so it’s gonna be bloody good, right?

My DD who wanted to come, said imagine if he just happens to bring Michelle out (y’know, just to say, Hello London! 😂)

Just had the 10 min countdown...and I'd luckily popped to the loo, all back in my seat trying to spot all the secret service agents 😉

Wow, you could almost touch him. Very jealous and looking forward to the feedback on how it was.

DiscoBeat · 24/09/2025 20:06

I wish I'd known, I'd have gone!

ImWearingPantaloons · 25/09/2025 09:35

How was it OP?

I’m on holiday at the moment so was gutted when I realised he’d be at the O2 when I was away.

SpinelessBastardsAll · 25/09/2025 20:15

Can't wait for an update, bet it was brilliant.

adviceatthislatestage · 25/09/2025 20:38

As expected, it was a lovely evening.

Barack Obama was articulate, charming, calm and measured. At times he seemed to struggle to find the right words to remain diplomatic/discreet when commenting on the current administration. I imagine he really wanted to let rip about what an absolute shitstorm it is atm

He spoke about the way the left’s complacency and smugness (his words) may have helped the right come to the fore and how his successor - ( he never once named Trump) was not shy about making his beliefs known. Also about the future of AI but think he got most fired up about the misinformation Trump has spread re Tylenol/ pregnancy/autism.

Have to say, he is still a very handsome man and still has his mega watt smile. Looks like he’s lost a lot of weight though, so hope all is ok health wise

@ChimneyPotPlease let us know what you thought, after Saturday xx
