I'm not a teacher and my youngest recently left sixth form, but I can well believe it's true. I feel sorry for teachers having to deal with this.
I think part of the problem is parents meeting on social media and egging each other on.

Back in the early 80’s when I was about 7-8 years old my DM was chatting to my teacher about education in general, and parents and their children’s behaviour. She always remembered the teacher saying “we get what you send us.”
