May not be the best title, I'll try and explain the situation.
My DD (21) has been working in retail alongside doing her degree.
After graduating this year, unsure what she wanted to do career wise, applied for a supervisor-type role (so more hours and pay) with a different retail company.
She's been there 2 months, and it's been truly awful - I won't go in to details as not the point of the post - so she is leaving and because it's within the probation period, only needs to give a weeks notice.
Prior to her deciding to leave she has progressed with a grad role and is at final interview stage. Early on in this recruitment process she said her notice would be 1 week / 4 weeks if after xxx date.
Should she be offered the job I feel she needs to be upfront and say she is available for an immediate start. (After all her P45 / potential reference will reveal when she left).
My question is - how does she best explain to the new company that she left of her own accord? Sadly she can't say 'cos they're shit' , tempting as it is!
All advice gratefully received.
Thanks.
