Can anyone relate? Energy levels in Menstrual Cycle

For years I have had problems with low energy levels that come and go, even in my twenties I remember days where I would come home from work and go straight to bed. Other times there would be a run of having energy where things would get done, I'd have a spring in my step, no brain fog and I feel like a different person, I AM a different person.

I'm in my mid thirties now, and started to notice that this follows a pattern, but seems a bit backwards. So for me, I have most energy in the run up to my period, I feel more alive, more straight headed, more drive. After my period, all up until mid cycle, I feel pretty awful. Tired, rundown, find it harder to get up in the morning, brain fog. It makes no sense as the norm is usually the other way round.

Presumably I have some sort of hormone imbalance? But what? I have been to the doctors all throughout my adult life because of this and had blood tests, but no one has been able to understand it. I even supplement iron tablets but it makes no difference, it all seems to depend on where I am in my cycle. I seem to sleep fine, do nothing different through out the month.

Can anyone shed some light and what should I be doing to improve this? It's not a great quality of life when two weeks of the month I am feeling 'out of it' and struggling most of the time. It's a day off today and all I've done is lie around feeling tired with no energy.

For the record, never taken any sort of hormonal contraception or had children, although I really want to in the future (currently single though, but that's another issue 😢)

I feel the same, I do have DC and the few days before is almost like a mini nesting, everything’s get cleaned, to do lists done etc. Then into a slump, which doesn’t really end until I have ovulated again. Ovulation is the worst week, so bloated and exhausted but my f/f say this is when they feel their best. Sorry no advice

Glad it isn't just me, it always seems to be the other way round! Wondering if I may have low estrogen or something as that is the most prominent hormone during the first few weeks of a cycle ...
