I just watched this tonight, saw it originally in the cinema when it came out but something is bugging me. In one scene Malcolm's wife is at work and getting close with her co worker, they hear a bang and run to the door and see that the window is cracked, then we (the audience) see Malcom walking away. But in my memory we see Macolm outside, he sees them through the window, at which point he bangs on the window in anger. Did I imagine this scene, or was it delated? Google was no help. Its driving me mad!!

I think you've misremembered it. I still have it on VHS! It’s part of the trick of the film to make us think that Malcom might have caused the crack but it wouldn’t have shown a physical interaction from Malcolm.

I just rewatched it, I don’t think I have seen it since the first time in the late nineties. I still remember the shock of having been tricked, I think that was the first film I’d ever see todo that. I’d misremembered it too, I thought the ‘I see dead people’ bit was right at the end .

I can just so clearly see him banging his closed fists against the window! It stuck in my mind too because after the movie my dh said it was at that point that he realised that Malcolm was dead, when the window was cracked, so I guess in my memory it was a more dramatic scene. What a movie though! I watched it last night with my adult dd and she was blown away by it, it was lovely to watch it with someone who hadn't a clue what was going on.

I have to admit that I figured the twist out early on, or at least suspected it.

I wanted to watch it with my dd but she googled it and discovered the twist.

Forget about that what does Bruce Springsteen have in his back pocket on the cover of the album Born in the USA?

Deadringer · 20/09/2025 15:03

Is it a bandana, maybe red? Not a fan particularly so I dont really know.

A red baseball cap apparently.

It is a red cap but yes, I also thought it was a bandana and had the cassette and actually got it out to check.
