What’s your favourite salad dressing?

I love a nice simple balsamic dressing, I put two cloves worth of lazy garlic into my salad dressing shaker, a generous sprinkle of Himalayan salt, a generous glug of balsamic vinegar and top it up with a load of olive oil. Delicious.

Either that or a squirt of good old salad cream!

What’s your go-to salad dressing?

Blue Cheese! With some crispy onion and bacon bits on top

Blue cheese
Olive oil with vinegar
Honey mustard

Justcallmedaffodil · 19/09/2025 17:51

Honey mustard. Which is strange, because I don’t like either by itself!

Peri-peri sauce

Arrrrrrragghhh · 19/09/2025 17:54

Caesar. Although that’s a salad in itself really.

I never dress my salads normally Can’t be bothered . I do always think how nice they taste with one on though.

I think we need more of these threads….,

I love French vinaigrette overly loaded with taragon! 😋

SamphiretheTervosaur · 19/09/2025 17:59

There's an oil range called Just

There stir fry oil makes a great salad dressing, not much required

They do some other great flavours too

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 19/09/2025 18:03

Ooh I think I might need to add honey mustard and blue cheese into the rotation!

Newman's Italian but I like blue cheese dressing too, or anything lemony.

DiscoBob · 27/09/2025 16:38

Garlic vinaigrette. With white wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic, fresh herbs, French grain mustard, plenty of salt and a tiny bit of honey.

I love Caesar dressing too but it only goes with one type of salad really.

I hate thousand island dressing, and anything that's really intensely balsamic tasting. And I'm not mad on mayo on salad. Only really as a dip or on a sandwich in moderation.

Mary berry’s is my go to

Sourisblanche · 27/09/2025 16:42

Home made French vinaigrette and for dh I make a honey mustard dressing.

I probably need to try some others because I’ve been doing the same ones for years.

NormalForNorfoIk · 27/09/2025 19:48

Recently I've been doing zest and juice of a lemon, tsp mustard, tsp pesto. Sometimes I also put in some brine from jar of olives / capers. Usually split it over two lunches.

Mary Berry one is perfect!

ICanStillSayIDontRemember · 27/09/2025 20:05

I really hate garlic and it’s hard to find dressings without it but Mary Berry’s fit the bill. Quite expensive though so I don’t buy it often.

henlake7 · 27/09/2025 20:10

I quite like hummus. Watered down it makes a nice dressing.

BrendaSmall · 27/09/2025 20:12
