Help with how to go about getting an electrician apprenticeship

Ds is 19 and thinking of doing an electrician apprenticeship. The problem is it seems easy to find the college course but difficult to find an employer who will take on an apprentice. I'd really appreciate some advice. Thanks

DS is also looking into this. Our careers service has a list of companies who take on apprentices. Can the college not help here? Does he have any work experience?

I'm not sure if the colleges help with finding an employer?! He hasn't got much work experience

Has he got access to Unifrog from when he was at school/college? They lost the local apprenticeships. Local college probably does courses and has links: would he be happy to go back to college?
