What are your thoughts on the new Surrey house?

It's another flat roofed one, with lots of glass, but I haven't looked more closely. I'll be back when I've grabbed some coffee and had a nose around.

I’m confused by everyone saying it’s not that big, it’s over 4000 square feet - that’s HUGE. All the bedrooms are 16 feet long.

I am utterly baffled by the topography of the garden.

That’s interesting. Says six bedrooms there, and half a million cheaper. On the Omaze link, says four bedrooms.

DH has discovered it’s only £17 into London from Guildford so we’d live there for a bit. He’s planning on filling in the pool. I’ve got arthritic hips so I’ll persuade him against 😆

Some of the space is corridor though - look at bedroom 3. I don't think it's small, but the bedrooms are oddly shaped (bedroom 4 is a single) and there is a lot of wasted space. What would you do with such a large entrance lobby, for instance? A four bed house is a family home, not a mansion for entertaining, so why do you need space for people to wait until you're ready to receive them? And whatever is a 'multi-purpose room'?

I wonder if the 4000 sq feet includes the outside space? There are a lot of balconies and walled areas.

I do like the outdoor kitchen, though. I have no idea how often I'd use it - very rarely, probably but I like the idea of it.

Also the kitchen is shit for £4m. I can imagine the house being used for lots of TV shows though.

Ooh, That could be quite fun though, having your home as a location.

Its upside down- would drive me nuts.

Just signed up for a sub as this house is near me. I want it for the pool but dd is refusing to move …

I'd be happy to win it and I'd quite like to live in that area.... but:
Its in a hole in the ground! No views.
I would want to be able to access the pool directly from the main bedroom - it seems silly that all the other bedrooms can go straight out to the pool but not the master bedroom.
The gym would be another bedroom, if it were my house.

Feeling a bit annoyed that Omaze have put the monthly subscription up to £15 from a tenner. Especially when the house is underwhelming. I may cancel my subscription and just have a go when a really nice house / area comes up.

They e designated one bedded as a dressing room, presumably for the pool, but there’s no reason why it wouldn’t be a bedroom, and I suppose bedroom 6 is now the gym

The staircase is hideous

I’d let extended family have a holiday here then rent it out daily to content creators. Can’t imagine it would be that easy to sell after. Although could sell it for far less than it’s claimed to be worth and still be quids in.

Agreed, the staircase is too bespoke to appeal to wider audience.

It's a bit telly tubby with all that grass hill.
