Holiday villa on a hotel resort?

We recently had a holiday in a villa booked via Airb&b

Completely unexpectedly when we arrived, it turned out to be on the grounds of a nice hotel- meaning we had access to the hotel pool, easy use of hotel resteraunt when we needed, and their nice hotel beach/cove area.

it ended up being the perfect type of holiday for our teen. We don’t like staying in hotel rooms as a family generally so having our own space was excellent but the amenities were handy for teen as we were otherwise fairly remote.

teen wants to bring a friend on next holiday and I’d like to try and find a similar set up - girls will be 15 and so I’m conscious about keeping them safe without them feeling like we’re helicoptering. (We could see the pool from our villa etc, it was perfect but we all agreed we didn’t love the overall island so don’t plan to return- would like to try somewhere new 😊)

please send recommendations! Would like to go June/july/august time, perhaps 1.5-2k for 7 nights. 3 bedrooms.

thank you

Sounds like a great setup and I can see why you’d want to replicate it. But do you really need to watch 15 year olds in the pool? At that age they are likely to want to do their own thing a bit on holiday.

Yes sorry, I probably didn’t word it very well! It felt like a great set up because teen could go off within grounds and have some independence but it all felt quite safe and it was nice to be able to peak over the balcony and catch a glimpse of her etc without the need to text and check she was ok. I am a bit nervous about taking someone else’s child on holiday so also keen to feel that everyone’s safe generally without cramping their style!

I don’t plan to watch their every move or feel they need supervision in the pool for example 😊

also quite like that they could go off and have food at restaurant whenever - I do all the cooking on self catering villa holidays but teens have bottomless legs and I don’t fancy being on call for feeding them outside normal mealtimes lol
