Christmas Away with 8yr Old

Hello all!

I’m a single mum with DS (8yrs old). I’d love to take him away for 3/4 nights including Christmas Day but I don’t know where is good! Can I have your suggestions/ recommendations please? Don’t mind staying in the UK or going abroad. Do have to be back in the UK for 27 December though … budget up to £2k including spending money as family will all chip in as a present for us. TIA!

I know it's not what you asked, but have you asked him if he wants to go away? My parents wanted to go away when I was 10 and I hated every second of it. I just wanted to be at home, seeing family, and my friends. Christmas is for being where you're comfortable!
