This has really warmed the cockles on a rainy Sunday afternoon!

Now who are we casting in the film!

The Sisters. Eileen Atkins, Judi Dench, Miriam Margoyles

The Provost. Jason Isaacs

The Locksmith. Timothy Spall

Plucky former students : Jessie Buckley, Emilia Clarke, Florence Pugh,

Will need a backstory so who will be the younger Sisters ...

Anna Maxell Martin, Rachel Stirling, Nicola Walker

And we need a few cameos and additional cast too:

Ian McKellan, obviously!

Eileen Atkins, Julie Andrews, Stephen Berkoff, Celia Imrie, Helen Mirren, Charlotte Ramping, Fiona Shaw, Martin Shaw, Imelda Staunton, Julie Walters, Penelope Wilton ...

I saw the story yesterday morning and commented to a friend that I was waiting for the film to come out! Given the bloody awful news around the world for weeks on end, I loved this story. More power to the Sisters.

Oh I love this! Absolutely yes to Miriam Margoyles, we recently saw her at Fringe and she was just fabulous. Yes to Timothy Spall and Jim Broadbent too.
What about Ian Holm?

Can we have a cameo by Julie Andrews please? Maybe as a Mother Superior?

I’d cast the three nuns as Julie Walters, Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep.

Jim Carter may be a good fit for the film. Maybe as a kind local who helps to repair the convent.

I think this is going to have to be a BBC/ITV/Britbox TV Series and then a Netflix one too!

I love Ian Holm but sadly he is no longer with us.

His Father Vito Cornelius in 'The Fifth Element' is still one of my all time favourites!

Actually, can I apply for him to get an upgrade? I see him as the mysterious journeyman who, just as the wicked Archbishop is about to have the nuns carted off back to the old folks home, steps forward as the Pope in disguise and saves the day.

Yes he can be the local landlord who wants the convent at a knockdown price.

Brendan Gleason as a disillusioned alcoholic priest who has his faith restored by the example of the nuns . Maxine Peake is an embittered divorcee . But the wily nuns set her up with a smouldering hunk played by.......I'm out of ammo ...help!
