Has anyone had the flu jab yet this year?

I had it this week at a Tesco pharmacy. But it wasn’t sore at all going in, and I have had zero side effects - no heat in my arm, no sore arm, nothing. Very bizarre! It left me wondering where I actually had the vaccination…

I have the flu jab every year and have always had a hot, sore arm for a couple of days.

What has happened here?!

It is normal for it to vary. I haven't had a bad arm for the last 3 years - 4 years ago was a complete bastard of a vax though. I'm NHS so I get it through work - programme is about to start so I'll soon find out.

But you'll be fine.

Not yet. Had it last year at the GPs and barely felt it no side effects.
Still got really poorly over Christmas with a virus/ chest infection. Maybe RSV?

Rightandwrong · 12/09/2025 22:49

I'm going on Tuesday for mine.
I don't generally get any bad affects from the flu jab.
I finally got my pneumonia jab last year and my arm was very sore after that.

Mine varies, don't usually feel the injections and only gave me a sore arm occasionally.

Had flu jab twice before, zero side effects

You had the ‘flu jab not the Covid jab therefore no horrendous side effects.

ARichtGoodDram · 13/09/2025 00:02

It definitely varies for me year to year with the flu jab.

LoserWinner · 13/09/2025 00:05

I have found that going to the gym and doing a load of cardio stuff straight after the shot stops me getting a horrible stiff arm. If I rub where the jab was I can feel it a bit, but there’s no swelling or ache when I move, which was what happened until I discovered this.

OldBeyondMyYears · 13/09/2025 01:31

Having mine next week…I have always had a hot, sore, stiff arm, so will be interesting to see if this year is different! I’ll let you know 👌🏻

I always have the flu jab, and I always have a sore, hot arm. I have the Covid jab when I can and never have any side effects! People react differently.
