I think there's something alive in my chimney

I can hear something scuttling about. I thought it was in the next room, but it's not.

There is no outlet at the bottom of the chimney. It used to be the vent for a gas boiler, long since moved and all blocked up. What do I do?

Is it capped at the top? Trapped bird? Not sure there's much you can do.
