Gdansk for Christmas market - would you?

DH and I are thinking of going to Gdansk for a few days' break in early December. Given the current situation would you go?

Well I’m going in a month and still planning on going.
I went to Krakow the week after Putin invaded Ukraine, which in retrospect was a bit foolhardy. It was a bit strange, but it was fine.

Depends on how risk averse you are.

I think the current official line is Tuesdays nights events were down to Russia trying to use Polish airspace illegally (to outflank Ukraine defences) rather than an attack on Poland itself...

Will Russia try it again given the grumbles and more from Poland, the EU probably NATO...who knows?

Yes. Wouldn't fly to Rzeszow right now, but Gdansk is way too far in the west for any drone incidents or attacks

Gdansk is miles away from the border, it will be fine. It’s a charming town and worth a visit. However, all those markets are identical, if you’re at all worried, choose somewhere else in Europe.

Thanks all. I'm usually up for any travel any time but the drone incident did give me pause for thought.

Omg just came across this. Yes go ! Gdansk is beautiful and has one of the best xmas markets and there is zero reason to worry.
