Is Emla cream effective for piercings?

I’m getting my nipples re-pierced next week and the first time I had them done 10 years ago, the lady used a freezing spray. I didn’t feel the first one but as she was coming at me to do the second one I made the mistake of looking down at the needle, freaked out and made her stop. In the second it took for me to gather myself and let her carry on, the spray wore off and as a result, the second one hurt like a bastard 😬 I don’t fancy that pain again but the piercer I’m going to this time doesn’t use spray, she recommended I use numbing cream.

Will Emla cream be good enough or are there any others I should look at?

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer, but I misread your title for Elmlea and was taken back, cos it's not even real cream 😭.
So disappointing ( just like Elmlea, in fact).

Get some tattoo numbing cream - they sell it on Amazon, much better than emla cream

It is really effective. Helix and cuff and I didn't feel a thing.

My daughter used it for ear piercing and didn’t even realise the first one had been done.
