Advice for teens flying to NZ

DD nearly 19 flying to NZ as soon as she can with her BF, same age.

DD, like us, is not well travelled but her friend is. They have their working holiday visas sorted and want to leave asap for work they've been offered (with friends) on the South Island. They might move on to another country after this but for now, we're just dealing with NZ!

Really grateful for any advice please from -
booking flights soonish (thinking search on Skyscanner incognito and booking with airline direct)..
travel insurance reccs..
extra medical insurance?
Things you wouldn't travel/fly without..
Any long haul flight and airport tips I can give her?
And anything general NZ South Island...

Singapore Airlines are highly rated. That helps when you are spending that long on a plane.

NZ is stunning - South Island has SO many wonderful places to visit. But if they are going out and meeting friends already there, and have work set up, then they will be able to get all the tips and advice from them, surely ?

NZ is a very lovely, very relaxed place. Very easy to travel around. Very accommodating to visitors.

If they don’t want to be hardcore, I would break up the journey with a day or two in Singapore. Downtown is easily accessible by MRT from the airport. Even the airport itself is a pretty cool place to spend a few hours.

They're on a working visa so I don't know what insurance to get? Any advice on this please? They're working on a farm so will be messing around with livestock, driving quad bikes and riding horses.
