Pocket money for kids

How much pocket money do your children get? I'd like to give my grandchildren a bit of money each week but am on a pension, so can't afford a lot.

I've only recently started giving pocket money.

I give their age plus £1, so a 9YO will get £10, for example.

I do this monthly as they don't spend a lot and it encourages them to save if they do find something more expensive.

My 12 year old gets £5 per week and my 15 year old gets £8 per week. They get money docked if they don't do something or do something they shouldn't (i.e. leave 7 towels lying on the bedroom floor).

our 8yo gets £3. £1 to spend/fritter as wanted, £1 for short term savings for whatever they want, £1 for charity giving. We also do £5 extra for spending each time we go on holiday. We buy books, ice creams etc on top so it’s really just for little toys in the corner shop etc.

My 9 & 4 year old get £10 a week & my 15 & 16 year old get £20 including a bus pass
