Yesterday I did a carboot. Needed to make some extra money. Im a single mum and had a few tough years ober various things. Been thinking about the path of my life recently.
Anyway beside me at the carboot was.this woman 10/15 years old than me. She was lovely!! We.got on really well.
Talking about my life and hers. Saying she's really into female empowerment and so am I. Solo holidays ect. Anyway she asked if im into fate or spiritual things and I replied like moons and star signs
She said kind of. Then she said she felt like things were going to change for me in a positive way. She felt september meant new beginnings.
When the car boot finished I came away feeling happy. Someone id spoken to for a few hours felt like an impact on me. Honestly I cant describe it. She was such a character.
Today I was driving to work, kind of dreading it and thinking about my future. Then all of a sudden a big white feather dropped onto my windscreen, sat there for a second or two and then blew off.
I know its suppose to be spiritual. I looked it up and I don't really have anyone close whos past. However it said it could symbolise im on the right path or new beginnings are coming.
I've never been a woo person but I was moved.and felt emotional when I saw the feather.

Does anyone else believe in this stuff? Has anything happened to someone when you've been unhappy or at cross roads and pulled or pushed you in a happy direction?

I haven't, but DH has had several things happen like this over the years, most recently after his father died. I don't want to invite ridicule on here by explaining what happened but little signs, like your white feather. And he's a scientist, so is usually super-logical. He would probably say it's your brain tuning in, in some way.

I don't believe in predestination - our lives are what we make them.

However, it's good that you met a nice kind person and, as a result of the encounter, you felt positive and happy. Maybe as a result you will make positive changes to your life or even just view it in a more positive way?

I think it’s just how some folks try to make people feel better, tell them something positive, and she judged right, you needed someone to say something nice to you.

I don't really believe it personally. I think you can connect with people for all sorts of reasons.

Saying that, a friend of mine, during covid, encountered an old lady while out walking on a canal towpath. They got to chatting, and apparently this old lady was so inspiring that my friend was just blown away by her.
It's 5 years later, and she still occasionally mentions the "old lady from the canal path" and how admirable she was.

I think sometimes you just come across people at the right time.

I follow someone on IG who is into this kind of thing.
She put a post up that if you heard a certain song in the next 24 hours things were about to change for the better.
I was making dinner and had forgotten something and had to nip to the shop. I always put my Apple Music on in the car but decided just to leave the radio on. The song came on, I couldn't believe it!

I then got an email to say I had passed the first round of a job application....

Yes i guess its not often you meet these positive encouraging happy people no adays with so much negative stuff happening in the world. It was a lovely encounter

I never believed in the significance of white feathers or noticed more than the odd feather. Then my mum died and they were everywhere. If I’m ever particularly upset or worried, I can guarantee that a couple of big white feathers will appear, and I always see at least one on my birthday or my mum’s birthday. I’ve always been very sceptical of anything like this but I can often sense my mum’s presence and I find the feathers very comforting.

What strikes me OP is that these encounters put you in touch with a part of yourself which is soft and happy and hopeful. Which is brilliant however it happened.
