Weird Amazon order for £1 that I didn't place. What's going on?

An order for an item I hadn't looked at and had no interest in is showing for £1.00 on my Amazon account and as a pending bank payment. To my address and name still. Is this a scam and bigger payments will then be taken? Has this happened to anyone else?

Does it appear in your Amazon account, under orders? Can you see the full order details, including day it was placed and payment method? Could a child have had access to your phone/account and pressed some random button to "buy it now"?

I would change the password, to start. Perhaps even remove all payment options from the account until you figure it out. My bank account has also got an option to lock cards, without cancelling them, as a solution for when you are not sure if you have misplaced the card or lost it. Maybe you can do that too. Unknown small payments could be a first sign of someone having access to the account and testing it, so it's worth being vigilant and changing the password etc.

Thanks will do. That was my worry about the initial small amount .
