Best colour for garage door?

Having our garage doors painted. Live in a nice 80s estate.

What colour would you like your garage door to be, and what would put you off? I fancy going for a soft sage green, or a blue-grey. Dh not sure…

I’d avoid grey - it was fashionable for home decor, moved to being a bit standard, is near tipping into dated. Therefore I’d go with your sage green idea or DH’s blue but not a grey-blue, more a navy blue.

Sorry- realised I read it as you wanted sage green, dh grey blue, re read and seen they are both your ideas! Go green. Or brighter blue.

I wouldn't have sage green - its been done to death. Do you want to paint your front door the same?

What colour garage doors do your neighbours have?

Id go basic, something that would blend in to the estate.

Royal blue, British racing green, white or have a look at your neighbours' ones to see which goes better with your house's brickwork.

I beg you, please do not paint it grey.

I painted mine the blue that you see so often in Greece. It is lovely and a change from all the terrible concrete shades that have been done to death.

What colour is your brickwork and your front door?

Go for a colour that matches house. You don’t want to make garage door a stand out colour. Garage doors aren’t pretty.

Ours is painted in Railings by F&B. It's a soft black, very neutral.
