Mistakes….they’ve made a few….3 this week to be precise.

I’m wondering if this is a sign of post Covid malaise or something else. 3 times this week I had business people make mistakes.

  1. I waited in on Monday for someone to come quote on some blinds for bedrooms. They didn’t turn up. An hour later I rang the company who said they would investigate and ring back. They did, apparently the lady that took my call had the details on her system but had forgotten to pass them on to the guy who would be coming out.
  2. On Wednesday I had a 9.30 appointment with a new dog groomer who works from her house on the estate I live on. Stood at her door at 9.28 rang bell, no answer. Waited a couple of minutes rang bell again…still no answer. Wats apped her…no answer. Rang her mobile…no answer…left a message and walked dog back home. 5 mins later I get a call apologising, she’d put the appointment in her book as 10.00, but confirmed 9.30 to me. Could I take dog back.
  3. Rang GP surgery this morning for an appointment. Was asked is it urgent or routine? Routine I said. Sorry no routine appointments available. Oh hang on can you get in for 2.30 today? Great I said (somewhat surprised to get a same day appointment) Arrived on the dot and went to see GP. Told him my concern and he said ‘why have you booked an urgent appointment for this? I said ‘I didn’t, i asked for a routine appointment and reiterated the conversation I had with the receptionist. Sorry, These appointments are for urgent cases I can’t see you today. I will feedback to reception.

so honestly, have I just been unlucky this week? Is this a sign of the times. Am I just being a nit picking old women (59 and retired) with nothing better to think about? Would be interested to hear others thoughts.

It's not you, it's them. Trying to find reasonable reliable people the week the kids go back is near on impossible.
