Daith piercings - miracle for migraines or nonsense bunkum

DD20 is suffering with migraines and considering a daith piercing as she has heard these can really work. I think her migraines are hormonal

She is a bit nervous so I said I would also get one in solidarity (I also get migraines) and go first!

I have one cartilage piercing (that took so long to heal) so I know what’s involved in it.. pain swelling and sleep interference 😂

Anyone who has one - did it help your migraines or just a load of rubbish?

Thanks

I had it done for the same reasons, though frankly I tend to think that this kind of thing is a load of bollocks. I was willing to try anything! I have to say, my migraines almost completely disappeared. I think it was probably a placebo effect, but placebo is very effective, so it doesn't really matter!
I've found that I only get migraines now if I've been crying a lot (thankfully a rare occurrence!) and if I've been overdoing the socialising (I have a very sensitive social battery!)
Doesn't hurt a lot, and this is the only piercing I've had which didn't become infected.

I got one for migraines. The piercing woman said "if it doesn't work, you've still got a cool piercing!"

Nonsense bunkum it may be, but I haven't had a migraine since I got it done 9 years ago!!

It took bloody ages to heal though, like nearly a year. Now I dont even notice it.

Good luck!
