Totally confused about fertile period and EWCM

how many days of EWCM are you meant to have ? Every month I’m getting about 8-10 days and that’s not normal surely ? I have always had this and have always struggled to get pregnant (I manage in the end but it’s taken years for each dc). Tests don’t show anything wrong . We want to have one last baby and I’m just frustrated as thought EWCM should be on fertile day only.

Also ovulation tests don’t work for me ? And I don’t have PCOS. 😭 Could this be some kind of hormone issue that can’t be tested for ?

That sounds really stressful. I was the opposite and never had ewcm but have two babies, I do think it can vary hugely and still be in the healthy range. You say the tests don't show anything, were the tests comprehensive by your gp?

We went private for the testing and checked so many things, this was before dc2 and we have redone a lot of the tests as worried perhaps something changed. I’m confused as read that CM should change from EWCM to creamy after ovulation and that doesn’t seem to happen for me , I do get ovulation pain on day 3/4 of EWCM and a couple of times have had a scan which confirms ovulation (but the tests never pick up an LH surge?) . I’m wondering if there’s some kind of hormone issue I haven’t checked for that is affecting CM and therefore implantation ?
