What colour would you say my DC’s eyes are? (I have added a photo but it might take a while to show).

They look Brown. Are you aware their pupils are different sizes?

I noticed that too

SequoiaTree · 28/08/2025 19:38

The left one looks green, the right one looks more grey/blue. Might be how the light is falling on them

hibeat · 28/08/2025 19:39

Maybe this is why you came on here?

Yes - DC does have a degree of anisocoria which we noticed when DC was quite small, but it was checked out by a consultant ophthalmologist and they weren’t concerned. Thanks for mentioning it, if we hadn’t noticed ourselves previously, it would have needed investigation.

DC actually also has sectional heterochromia in the left eye but it’s not really visible as they have darkened. One quarter is darker brown.

I ask because I am never sure if I think they’re hazel or dark grey or brown! It seems to depend on the light. Sometimes they look almost amber!

Dark green

PeonyPatch · 28/08/2025 19:58

They look dark green to me

The lighting always affects the colour of the eyes, but in this photo, on my phone, they look dark green.

Bathingforest · 28/08/2025 22:41

They are perfect blend of brown, green and grey. Very rare. Most eyes have mixed colours if not blue or dark but these have a blend

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 28/08/2025 23:06

Interesting. They will change to reflect the colour of top being worn.
I would say Hazel, but with a bluey tone. 🙂

ErrolTheDragon · 29/08/2025 00:02

The lighting isn’t great in that photo and there seems to be some blue light or reflection falling on the eye on the right of the screen (I.e.his left eye), so I wouldn’t go by that.
if I zoom in on the other eye and look at the iris in isolation it looks brown to me.

MoonlightMidnight · 29/08/2025 00:55

Brown

Whenever I see this as a thread title I know the answer will be hazel.
