Long story short - we need:
- two isofix points, preferably three but oldest booster can be used without it.
- minimum of 5 full sized seats.
- sat nav
- parking cameras / sensors
- aiming for something in the 25-33k range, definitely under 40k retail price to avoid the higher road tax
Would prefer a van type with sliding doors for ease of access especially if looking at three rows of seats.
We have looked at :
25 plate Xtrail Connecta 7 seater - loved the spec, ticked all the boxes but needed to use the third row seats to fit my oldest in as didn't fit in middle row between carseats and I'm not keen on them climbing in the boot to access this (sliding middle row seats pointless as isofix points are on them and render them useless when used) also having the third row up removed all boot space for pram.
25 plate C5 airspace / walker - again all boxes ticked but oldest struggled to get into the booster seat in the middle. Can't put other seats in the middle as then can't reach to do up 5 point harness. Also felt it compact in the driver seat - DH and I both around 6ft.
25 plate belingo - amazing space, easy access but the spec is a major let down with no sat nav or duel air con or rear camera / front sensors. Also, it's massive.
24 plate pegueot 5008 - these are like goldust in my area as the new 25 plates have not got three isofix points or three full seats in back. Absolutely loved it tho. Unfortunately only one in my area was 30k with 12000 miles and in a utter state with paintwork and inside marks.
24 and 25 plate spacetourer I adore the inside of this but it's massive, and is high end of budget on minimum spec. The spec level we would need is hard to find in dealers. Also parking etc would be a nightmare as we have street parking at home.
We have been out 4 days straight in so many dealers and showrooms that in so over it. Unfortunately our car is due to be handed back in 2 weeks so the pressure is on.
DH and I can't agree on what to go with, as everything has cons and we are at the end of our tethers.
Anyone have suggestions? Please help.
We have a joie 360, joie stages and isofix booster seat. Large pram and/or wagon to go in boot. Don't have a electric charge point. Do mainly local town/areas driving but lots of it.
