A specific beach which has rip tides and is too dangerous to swim off, so usually deserted.

Knitting on the sofa in the early morning with a cup of tea before anyone else is awake. I work in a school too. Savouring the last days - I'm away on holiday!

Garden relaxing on a comfy chair, admiring my hard work and all the flowers. Coffee, dog by my feet with a podcast in my ear. Heaven.

GoAwayAutumn · 26/08/2025 23:32

In an ideal world it's a walk and then sit with a drink next to a beach, can be anytime of year, even the depths of winter.

More likely is wine, candle, book, bath or wine and Downton Abbey (fire and candle in winter)

We’ve got a kitchen extension with a sofa at the end, lying there after work with the sliding doors open listening to the birds in the garden, it’s a quiet 10 minutes before DH gets home.

On my allotment weeding! I’m weird in that I find it really therapeutic pulling up long roots like couch grass. I listen to podcasts and the time just flies by pottering around with the plants. Less fun this summer when I had to spend all the time running round with watering cans, but I’m going to go back to my project of digging a pond this autumn, and have lots of flowering plants planned to plant for next year.

Sitting outside the cafe in the local park with a coffee and a bacon sandwich.

PersephoneParlormaid · 27/08/2025 07:36

I naturally get up early so I’m on the sofa, mug of tea on the table, feet up scrolling MN, with the dog snoring next to me. Bliss.

TheChosenTwo · 27/08/2025 07:37

The lake I swim in. To me it is an absolute sanctuary of peace, it feels so therapeutic.

TeenLifeMum · 27/08/2025 07:38

Kayaking on our local river or an evening walk in our local country park - a specific one. The views are fabulous and there’s a feeling I get up there that takes my breath away. When I’m down that’s my go to dog walk (on my own or with dh).

Other one is our garden seating area tucked away with a coffee under the gazebo cover when it’s raining lightly.

Walking along the canal enjoying nature, open fields each side.
When I can my favourite is swimming in the sea.

Or shooting stuff online, I bought a new game yesterday and enjoyed playing it very much.
