Ok, diagnosed IBS-D Via FIT tests, and colonoscopy March 2024. Great visibility on colonoscopy, all biopsies clear. No Polyps. Since my diagnosis I have worked hard to figure out my diet. Started the gym and have had daily normal bowel movements since.
I went on holiday four weeks ago, and of week one I had a minor episode of D. To be expected after travel and a relaxed diet. Same thing happened a couple days before I came home.
My issue is since that last D episode I haven’t been to the bathroom. That was a week ago. I wasn’t particularly uncomfortable until today when I came on and now it feels like a brick is up my bum. When I put my tampon in I could feel a large blockage of what I imagine is poo there.
Anyway - I’ve done a suppository and I think most of it has cleared. However. I am
now convinced I have bowel cancer (health anxiety) and also very worried about how to prevent this. I logically know that it was caused by excessive drinking, hot climate, pizza eating, no exercises and 2 days travelling BUT you know. Stupid brain.
Any words of wisdom, or anyone who has gone through similar with strategies to prevent a repeat? It’s similar to childbirth and I couldn’t bear it.
