Tipping hotels in France

Google suggests tip 10% of room fee at end of stay -would you do this???

Paris might be different these days (international influence and all that) but it wouldn't be routine most parts of France.

I guess if the housekeeping has been exceptional and you're feeling generous I'm sure the individuals aren't going to turn down a few euros literally pourboire ..but tipping as a fixed percentage isn't really the done thing.

Never done this. Service is normally included in restaurants and do an additional 10% is not expected there either. Chat gpt going American?
